Portland Development Commission signs MOU with Smart City Planning
~To encourage the “Environmentally advanced City”, “Smart City” and “Compact City” project for citizens~

Portland Development Commission(PDC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Smart City Planning, Inc., to establish a cooperation system for promoting the environmentally-advanced city planning and development.

Portland is a main city in the U.S. state of Oregon, and this area was redeveloped with a central focus on “Pearl District” for the realization of a compact city after the 1970’s. As a result, it has become famous for the best practice of the environmentally advanced city and creative city, and it’s rated number one in the livable city ranking in the U.S. PDC is a leading entity for ”We build Green Cities” that worked on the Pearl District, and PDC has proceeded the city planning in Portland as a third-sector company in collaboration with the other companies in ”We build Green Cities”.

Under the MOU, PDC and Smart City Planning will exchange of the information about related activities, experiences, and know-how and cooperate with each other to promote environmentally advanced city planning and development projects and to broaden the opportunities for our business.

Taking advantage of the cooperation with PDC, Smart City Planning will improve the Kashiwa-no-ha Smart City Project that is one of our flagship projects and expand the greenfield development and redevelopment project for citizens here and abroad involving the earthquake disaster reconstruction area.
